You Can Check Your Health by Looking at Your Nails
Check your nails. Healthy nails are pink, and the nail bed is smooth and flat. Changes like discoloration, thickening, lines, pitting, indentations, or bumps on the nail surface could be signs of illness.
BLUE NAILS (CYANOSIS): Indicates low blood oxygen levels. EASILY BREAKING AND SPLITTING NAILS: Indicates protein, vitamin C, and folic acid deficiency. While it can be an indicator of nutritional deficiencies, if there are pits in the nail bed, it can also be a sign of PSORIASIS. CROWN NAILS (SPOON NAILS): May be a sign of iron deficiency, hemochromatosis, hypothyroidism, and heart disease. DISLOCATION OF NAILS: May be a sign of hyperthyroidism. YELLOW-GREEN NAILS: May be a sign of infection. May be a sign of infection. BUMPED NAILS: Are a sign of lung problems. CRACKED, BROKEN, AND THICKENED NAILS: May be a sign of fungal disease. NAIL-BITING HABIT: Related to anxiety and stress. It's a sign that you're overly stressed. If the condition is treated, your nail shape and color will return to normal.
